RunPee.com: the most helpful movie site ever

Photo is arbitrary: the service is for both men and women.

So you’re sitting there. Your legs are crossed and your fingers are digging holes into the armrests. It’s been two hours and you know the running time of two and half hours means you have to hold it for another thirty minutes. Your bladder practically smacks you as it screams for relief. All the while you are thinking to yourself, “There had to be several places in the first two hours that I could’ve gone to the bathroom. If I go now I’ll miss the good stuff at the end!” As you stare at that $12 Super Jumbo drink you downed earlier in the film, you remember this article and wish you had used the new website it spoke of.

RunPee.com is probably the most helpful movie site to hit the web. Just like the name implies, this site helps you to know when to “run pee” when you go to see a movie. Check out the site before you leave to see the film and then remember (or write down if you can read in the dark) the part it suggests. When you get to that part, figure out if you have to go now or if you can make it through the whole film.

The site has some really cool features. First, it tells you the best part in the film, including the timestamp, to go to the bathroom. Then, it tells you approximately how long you have until the movie “gets good” again and you should be back. Next, it has a description of the scene in scrambled text. If you are pretty certain you will use the bathroom during the scene you can unscramble the text and actually read what you will miss ahead of time, or if you choose, do this after you get home. So no whisper-shouting, “What did I miss?” We ALL hear you two talking.

Some movies have more than one RunPee times for you to pick from, and if the site does not have a RunPee time for a certain movie you have seen, you can actually post one yourself. Apparently, this has been known to be a problem when users don't use it correctly.  Please make sure that if you do submit a time you do so thoughtfully and correctly to avoid making the administrators work harder to edit these postings.  Remember, this site is to help people enjoy going to the movies more, so let's keep it that way!

If anything this is a fun website to check out. It does have a great service for those people out there that find it hard to make it through a long movie without using the restroom. Hey, you paid $10 or more to see that thing…you don’t want to miss anything good!

Note: thanks to a good question below (Andreas), it should be noted that this service works well for both men and women (the picture used is arbitrary and NOT meant to imply it is a service for men only).  That is why the amount of time you have before you should be back feature is so helpful as some people need more time than others.

I'd like to know if this service also makes sense for women.

    Andreas,
Good question...and yes, it absolutely makes sense for women (the picture I used was arbitrary and does not mean it applies to men only). That's why when the site says how long you have before you should be back it is helpful to all (maybe 2 mins. isn't enough for everyone!).
    Thanks,
    Tom

Hey Tom, this is the best and most thoughtful review of RunPee I've seen so far. Thanks for covering all the details.

One thing that was a little off is the user suggestions. They aren't suggestions. They get posted right away. That's been a blessing and a curse because some people use them to review the movie and then I have to go delete them. I'm looking into ways to help cut down on that sort of usage.

Plus a user can take an existing PeeTime and 'Clone' it. That's a copy that they can

    Hey,
Thanks RunPee for checking out the article and filling me in on the user submitted information. I'll get that fixed.
Love your site, keep up the good work!

    Kelsey,
The site is set up strictly for the best time to use the bathroom when you go out to a movie theater. So, I don't think it can help you at school.
Thanks for checking it out though!
    Tom
