New Year’s Eve in Mount Dora’s Donnelly Park promises double the excitement and fun for you and your family this New Year’s Eve. The celebration will not only ring in 2010 but kick off the yearlong Mount Dora 100th birthday party celebration to commemorate the centennial anniversary of the town’s incorporation! And that’s not all because the festivities will include the first-ever lighted ball drop right here in Mount Dora’s Donnelly Park as the New Year begins! Come and ring in this very special year at the “hometown New Year’s Eve party” in historic downtown Mount Dora.
The party begins at 9 p.m. in Donnelly Park under the enchanting Christmas light glow of Donnelly Park where the exciting sounds of music from Mickey Carroll and Friends plus other visiting musicians will fill the air.
Plus, there will be lots of food and drink including hot snacks, cocoa and kettle corn, soda, water and of course, wine, beer and champagne from cash bars under the tent for your imbibing pleasures on this historical evening.
As part of the Centennial party kickoff, you will be able to purchase centennial memorabilia, books, flutes and join the Mount Dora Time Capsule (membership will run you $20.10, mere pennies to be immortalized).
Then at midnight, all attention will be on the lighted ball in Donnelly Park that will drop to ring in 2010 and to kick off the yearlong 100th birthday bash! What an exciting time to be in Mount Dora.
Bring your family and friends for an unforgettable evening and be part of history-in-the-making!
