Annual Mount Dora Craft Fair celebrates silver anniversary in downtown Mount Dora October 24-25

Downtown Mount Dora comes alive during the Annual Mount Dora Craft Fair

The annual Mount Dora Craft Fair returns to celebrate its 25th anniversary on October 24-25, 2009 in beautiful downtown Mount Dora. Throughout this historic community, the streets come alive with more than 300 talented crafters from all over the country displaying and offering for sale their finest works to the more than 250,000 visitors who are expected to attend this two-day event. Plus there's food and entertainment to round out a perfect day outdoors. This is one of my favorite festivals and what a perfect time of the year to host a craft fair with the cooler weather and the holidays just around the corner.

The nationally ranked Mount Dora Craft Fair features an eclectic mix of arts and crafts from sculptures to ceramics to paintings to woodworking, and more, providing you with the opportunity to find unique gifts for you or for those on your holiday list. And with all of the crowds in the streets, it's a perfect time to shop along the resident stores such as Noni, Piglet's Pantry, Village Antique Mall, and Maggies Attic, to name a few!  How about a visit to Pure Aveda salon?  And if you're hungry after all that shopping, check out Pisces Rising for great seafood, Goblin Market for all around great cuisine,  or Mount Dora Sushi, plus many more great eateries!

One of the highlights scheduled for Saturday afternoon is the Florida Lakes Symphony Orchestra who will perform a free concert in Donnelly Park on at 1:00 p.m. to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Mount Dora Craft Fair. Under the direction of award-winning conductor, Michael J. Garasi, sixty musicians from all over the world, who now live in Florida, will take center stage and fill the town with glorious music. If you want to catch their rehearsals, stop by the park at 11:00 a.m.

The event will run on Saturday, October 24, from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and on Sunday, October 25 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Get here early if you want to park close to downtown otherwise, you may have to walk a few blocks or more from some of the outer parking lots. The town of Mount Dora provides free shuttle service from some of these locations as well. Don't miss the annual Mount Dora Craft Fair on October 24 and 25 this year!
