2010 Fallen Warriors Memorial MC Poker Run and Car Show - Part One, Pre-Registration Party

Sacramento Motorcycles Examiner

The
2010 Fallen Warriors Memorial kicked off in good fashion with a pre-registration party hosted by
Harley-Davidson of Sacramento on Friday, 5/28. Upon arrival, it was clear that Sac Harley was intent on making the FWM patrons feel welcome. The registration table was placed prominently by the front door, the rock and roll was playing and there were several friendly ladies already staffing the food and drink tables.

The parking lot glistened and rumbled with the familiar sights and sounds of big v-twins coming and going, not the least of which were a couple bikes I saw at the
Easy Riders Bike Show back in January. That’s saying something when you have that caliber of motorcycle rolling through the lot.
I took a few minutes to get acquainted with some of the other FWM people (I met only
John Cordova at the 2009 event) and also caught up with Sac Harley co-owner
Jay Westbrook. Notably absent was
Chris Westbrook, recovering from an injury (get well soon!). But I also ran into finance guru
Rachelle Jacobson who informed me that she will be performing her unique comedy act at
Tommy T’s in Rancho Cordova. You may recall that I mentioned her stage act when I covered the
Women’s Garage Party and how funny and bawdy she was. I mention her yet again because the bulk of her humor comes from her experiences as a
woman on a motorcycle. Stay tuned for a follow up interview with her.
The pre-reg party had 31 sign-ups by 6:30, when I left. A pretty strong turn out, but only a glimpse of the hundreds that would actually show the next day.
