OK, I'm going to be a nice guy and let you know about this but I have to tell you, I'm going to be in the competition.
The American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) is asking members to tell them why they, the member, should be selected to receive a free training session at the Yamaha Champions Riding School, at Miller Motorsports Park near Salt Lake City. The winner not only gets to go to the training but they will also be expected to write an article for American Motorcyclist magazine, the AMA's member publication.
Here's what you have to do to enter.
First, you must be an AMA member with a valid motorcycle license. (Check, I've got that one covered.)
Second, you must agree to appear in a video and write a story if you are chosen for the assignment. (OK, I'm pretty sure I can handle that.)
The deadline for entries is May 20 and you must apply by email to submissions@ama-cycle.org including:
- Your name
- Your address
- Your AMA number
- A brief history of your motorcycle experience
- A 500-word essay or column on why you should attend the Yamaha Champions Riding School and be chosen as American Motorcyclist's journalist for a day. Entries will be judged on originality, persuasiveness and the entrant's ability to write creatively.
- A short video (or a link to a video that's already posted elsewhere), making your case for the job.
- Any other supporting materials you'd like to include.
Be aware that all entries become the property of the AMA and may be made public, either in print or on the Internet. Editors' decisions on a winner are final and will be based on applicants' creativity.
May the best rider win, and I hope it's me. But I'll still applaud if it's you.

Sounds like fun.
Good luck. I'm rooting for you. Can't wait to see your video entry.
