He might now belong to the St. Louis Blues but Jaroslav Halak hasn’t forgotten the fans of the bleu-blanc-rouge.

The Canadiens’ 2010 playoff hero is making a brief return to the city to reconnect one last time with those who supported him and at the same time raise money for a good cause. Halak will be appearing at the Capsule Sportive store in Fairview Pointe-Claire from 2-4 p.m. He’ll be signing 8x10 photos at a $20 cost, with all proceeds going to the Ste. Justine Hospital in Montreal. Fans aren't required to purchase a print and can get their own items autographed.

“Jaro had to return to Montreal to get some of his belongings before heading to St. Louis,” explained his agent, Allan Walsh, to Radio-Canada.ca. “He asked me to find an original way to say thank you to the fans.”

And one would have to expect there will be plenty of them on Saturday. After several years as the No. 2 netminder, Halak benefitted from Carey Price’s struggles in 2009-10 and made a name for himself as a starter. Those around the league at one time asking ‘Jaro who?’ were no more in the postseason, as the Slovak stopper frustrated the Capitals and Penguins during the Canadiens’ improbable spring run.

It will be Halak’s only visit to Montreal this season. The Habs and Blues hook up just once in 2010-11 and only in St. Louis, on March 10, 2011.
