An alleged 4th mistress, Jamie Jungers, and a 5th, Mindy Lawton, have now been named in the Tiger Woods infidelity story. According to the Associated Content, Ms. Jungers follows on the heals of three other women including Rachel Uchitel, Kalika Moquin, and Jamiee Grubbs, who have also been linked with the pro-golfer (photos below). The HuffingtonPost published Ms. Lawton's tale on a related blog. With more women coming out of the golf bag, Modern Love wonders if we may be dealing with a cat inclined towards sexual addiction, using money as the ultimate aphrodisiac. No doubt to many, money is sexy.
Of course, only time and a certified professional can answer those questions as they pertain to this unfolding story. In the meantime, Modern Love wants to explore the allure of money and sex, and how they can undermine even a seemingly strong marriage, particularly if one partner suffers from sexual addiction.
Real or fake?
Sexual addicts are unable to manage their sexual behavior. In some cases, they claim that the desire to sleep with as many people as they can, as often as they can, is a compulsive behavior (the ‘my penis made me do it’ camp), while others may be suffering from some other emotional imbalance (the ‘my heart made me do it’ camp).
No one yet knows whether sexual addiction is rooted in a propensity towards addiction, obsessive-compulsive behavior (OCD), or if it is a by-product of our highly sexualized society. Like most traits, the likelihood is that a bit of nature and a bit of nurture contribute to its manifestation. Whether or not the sexologists agree is besides the point to those who suffer from sexual addiction, or those who love them.
However real or fake, there are indeed women (and men) who wil also claim to have had relations with a celebrity for the sake of their 5 minutes of fame (infamy). Rumors along these lines are certain to be damaging in the short term, and long term, not just for the celebrity, but also for the alleged lover.
Money is sexy
For many, money (and its sidekicks, fame and recognition) is the ultimate aphrodisiac, even worth lying for. Trips, fancy dinners, elegant parties, penthouse suites in the finest hotels – the mating and dating rituals of the rich and famous can make ordinary life appear boring, pedantic even. Who wants to think about cooking dinner, paying the bills, or making sure little Johnny cleaned behind his ears when you can pay others to take care of the mundane?
Modern Love understands the allure of pleasure, sexual and otherwise. I’ve written many columns specifically to help ordinary couples increase intimacy in their lives, sexual and otherwise. Alas, the problem is that when money is falsely adored, replacing real intimacy, a relationship becomes a house of cards. With enough pressure, the slightest hint of a breeze or a scandal as is now unfolding, it can collapse.
Why? It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to prove what social scientists have already discovered. Money may be sexy, but it doesn’t buy happiness (Women are sadder because deep down men are shallower). Oh, it can buy sexual favors, it can buy adoration, it can buy silence, and it can even buy you a wife, but money, in the long run, will not guarantee that elusive thing we call happiness. Need evidence?
Just take a look at the Woods family now. Whatever is going on behind their closed doors, we can be certain that it will take a lot of love, communication, and healing to put back together what rumors and allegations have torn asunder.

Tina, lots of food for thought here! Good show.
Excellent as always! Several men have said to me, "The only reason to have money is to attract women." More money buys better cars, clothes, houses, etc. to attract more women. In my opinion, Tiger is simply falling in line with this point of view.
Just goes that Tiger has found there is more than a hole in one.
I think a lot of people do not understand the tremendous pressure Tiger is under, or the tension sex can relieve. If he drank or have a drug habit, no one would consider it as a matter of infidelity, but it would be in a way.
God's favorite people had an abundance of sexual outlets according to the Bible. Then somewhere along the line things changed. I think it was about the time the Church decided to take control over peoples lives and dealt God out of the equation.
I had always heard variety is the spice of life, and what is a life without spice? Sex is a natural source of pleasure and gives people a sense of well being and purpose.
Let the person who suffers from no human failings cast the first stone or keep out of his life. You would probably benefit from a good roll in the hay yourself.
The problem is not that Tiger is a failure at being a husband and father but that we, through easily surrendered adoration, hold him to some higher standard that we might a neighbor or colleague. He is a great golfer. This is a fact that we can see with our own eyes. I don't expect anything more and as such am not disappointed. What I find really amusing is that Accenture, the company that used to be Arthur Anderson, chose a spokesperson who made very poor choices. Seriously, could it have been any better?
Dear Dave L. - Your comment is one of the most astute I've read so far, and indeed, something I hint at in another on the whole story. Thank you for taking the time to read, and share your thougths, and adding to a discussion that has captivated many. Best/T
"Ms. Jungers follows on the heals of three other women"
heels, not heals.
Jamie Jungers is a "Freakin" Liar
Are these ladies not aware of what they are ruining? Ruining a starting family, an innocent child! Hey, who really cares if somebody got mistress/es? Its not only him who does it. Even normal guys and note "women" does it as well. It is up to the guy / woman to cheat or be truthful to their partners! In a certain matter, they have their choices to deal with. Its there own lives, own money, they can do whatever they want with it! World is full of sarcasm and temptations, so deal with it! NOBODY IS PERFECT.
