Astronaut: Moon, Mars and Beyond LLC
A while ago, the U.S. military created America's Army, an official Army game. It seems that another government agency - NASA - is following in these footsteps, in creating an MMO of their own.
The game, titled Astronaut: Moon, Mars and Beyond, is still in early development, but boasts the following tidbits:
- AMMB takes place in the year 2035. Mankind has started settling the Solar System.
- Real science, technology, engineering, mathematics and physics content is infused throughout the AMMB universe.
- Players will be able to receive real course accreditation from ages 13-24!
- Astronauts may pick from several character classes, including several types of Engineer, Physicists, and Pilots.
- AMMB is currently being developed using the Unreal Engine platform.
- A first playable look at the AMMB MMO is expected in late 2010.
- NASA sponsored the selection in the MMO competition, and Project Whitecard, Virtual Heroes and Wisdom Tools comprise the winning team!
