Need for Speed World, EA's racer built on the Need for Speed series, will soon be adding Dolby Axon technology, and will be the first of its kind to do so.
Dolby Axon will grant better noise and echo suppression during races for clear voice communication, and will work over 5.1 and 7.1 channels, stereo speakers, and stereo headsets. While Axon isn't the first 3D audio system, its drawing attention from a lot of developers for its ability to be used both client- and server-side.
Producer of Need for Speed World Stephane Grefford said via press release, "Working with Dolby, we can give gamers a seamless channel of communication for them to collaborate together to become the top racer. We’re excited to be the first title in North America to incorporate Dolby Axon to help enhance our player’s overall racing experience."
