UFC 106 Pre-fight press conference notes and quotes

The UFC had their pre-fight press conference this afternoon in Las Vegas. The four fighters that were present were Tito Ortiz, Forrest Griffin, Josh Koscheck, and Anthony Johnson.

Tito Ortiz: "I got my hands full and I take this fight very seriously.

"It's nice to do squats, lunges, and run without any back problems."

"I'm still young at 34 years old. Randy Couture started his career at 34 years old."

"We are not barbaric animals trying to kill each other."

"Comparing boxing to MMA is like comparing checkers to chess."

"I had a draw against Rashad Evans but I thought I won the fight"

"My legs almost lost there inches but I  gained two inches back on. It is great everyday to have muscle soreness and not back soreness"

"I never been dominated but except with the mistakes I did with  Chuck Liddell."

"I think former fighters should be MMA judges. The Machida/Shogun fight, I watch that fight, and I thought that Shogun won. You look at Machida and he looked like he had to be carried out."

"The first fight, me and Forrest, we threw down. I'm glad Forrest stepped up."

Forrest Griffin: "I'm excited to fight and you will be excited to watch."

"Judging is a tough job. I'm just glad I don't have to do it."

"You can prepare for whatever but the fight will be the fight."

Anthony Johnson: "It's gonna be a party in the cage." "I'm used to fighting in the cage but not used to talking in front of a big crowd like this."

"UFC will surpass football, basketball, and baseball."

"I go for the knockout so I don't have to leave it in the judges' hands. Just kill them, knock them out."

Josh Koscheck: "You can expect the fight not to go to the judges' scorecard. I expect to come out with a big victory."

"I think bad judging is part of the sport. As far as fighters, we have to try to control that by finishing the fight. That is why I try to go out and finish the fight."
