UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar had successful surgery on his intestinal tract Tuesday after suffering a bacterial infection called diverticulitis last week. Diverticulitis is a common disease found in the large intestine.
While UFC president Dana White said Lesnar's feeling better, the Minneapolis, MN native's MMA career is still in serious jeopardy, as he also has been enduring an illness called mononucleosis, which is a blood-related condition connected to the Epstein-Barr Virus.
Lesnar was scheduled to have defended his heavyweight title in his next bout against Shane Carwin.
