Sparta, New Jersey native Jim Miller will be forced to change up his training routine once again. Miller's opponent, former lightweight champion Sean Sherk, has pulled out of their January 2nd UFC 108 bout after suffering a cut over his right eye during training according to Loretta Hunt of Sherdog.com.
Seeing opponents pull out of fights due to training camp injuries is becoming an expectation for Miller. Miller, who fights out of Whippany, NJ, was originally slated to fight division mainstay Tyson Griffin on the upcoming card, who also pulled out with an injury. Sherk stepped up to take Griffin's place prior to becoming injured himself. Miller's previous win over UFC newcomer Steve Lopez at UFC 103 came after Miller's original opponent Thiago Tavares suffered a knee injury during training.
Zuffa brass are currently searching for a replacement for Sherk, who is unable to fight with stitches due to the Nevada state athletic commission's health standards.
Updates will be posted on Examiner.com as they become available.
