The Timberwolves are flush, I swear

Housekeeping and delayed humor from yesterday's press conference:

Most of the Timberwolves-interested media has covered this, but Glen Taylor confirmed that Kevin McHale could return to the Wolves next season only as the coach – no more Wolves front office for the Hibbing-hooper.

It's been a weird week. Lots of hindsight, regret and repressed depression in which to revel and splosh around in, like Wilbur in the mud. We Timberwolves fans are, if nothing else, tired. And cheaper tickets might not be enough to keep us interested. Unfortunately, the Warriors game -- which Zgoda aptly described as an obliteration -- did little to quell the acid-reflux stirring in my gut.

Would an end to the McHale-era bring folks back to Target Center? Maybe. But before we move forward (again, maybe), let us look back for a few minutes:

To be fair to McHale, and as you noticed, some of that stuff actually deserved to be flushed. But delicious red Gummi Bears? C’mon. Go find some black licorice or something. Seriously.

All flushing aside, there might be something to look forward to. Here's an excellent bit from the always on-point Canis Hoopus:

“Despite what is currently happening on the court with Al Jefferson down for the season, this team is on the right track and it is positioned to do some really nice things in the next year or two…

They are moving forward with 3 very movable expiring 09/10 contracts (Mike Miller, Craig Smith, Brian Cardinal), a stashed Euro center (Nikola Pekovic), reasonable cap space, roster flexibility, and the possibility of four first round draft picks (with two seconds).

If you add in the current economic climate of the NBA as a whole, the Wolves are positioned so as to be able to take on 1 or 2 high level players with their expiring deals and young players without breaking the bank. ”

Smart. I recommend reading the whole article at Hoopus

That toilet action out flushed any sweet dunk I've seen in a T-puppies outfit all year... Enjoyed listening to your sports talk piece and couldn't agree more on the soft defense in the NBA. All the Best

P Nelson: With a toilet like that, I'd encourage people to use the John.
