Makeup 911: How to fix clumpy mascara fast

Summers over and school started last Monday.  The new schedule is definitely wrecking havoc all over the US on sleeping patterns, under eye circles, skin care, and makeup routines.

Setting an alarm clock really works great when sleeping habits are way out of whack.  It's also nice to have friends intrerrupt sleep with morning phone calls.  Don't let oversleeping or sleeping late ruin an otherwise great day.

This morning however, was one big makeup disaster as mascara caused a huge clumping nasty mess with no time to fix it.

The clock reads 7:45am and school or work starts in less than 15 minutes.

UGH!

It’s time for some quick Makeup 911;

  • With a paper towel remove all mascara from the wand itself.
  • Do not use a tissue or piece of toilet paper they both have too many fibers that can fall into the eye itself.
  • Take the clean mascara wand, (clean spoolie brushes work also) wiggle gently using a side to side motion from eye lash roots to tips.

This process will remove just enough of the clumped up mascara on the lashes and allow for a metal eye lash brush to be dragged through eye lashes.

To prevent future mascara clumps;

  • Always drag applicator the side of makeup product container when removing mascara wand.
  • Tap all sides of the wand on a clean paper towel to remove any further unwanted mascara.
  • Never be in a hurry as poking the eyeball with the mascara wand can end the user in the ophthalmologists’ office.

The best mascara according to makeup reviews is:

  1. Covergirl Lash Blast in Black, $7.44
  2. Maybelline XXL Extensions Very Black Waterproof, $7.99

    Another nice makeup article. I used to make those clumpy mistakes and see teens look like that alot, because they want to? I think perhaps their moms need to helps them.

    How is the bare Minerals mascara? Are there any good eco-friendly makeup, or mineral makeup mascaras on the market?

  • I suggest researching their mascara on reviews, see what consumers think?

    My newest favorite mascara is not natural, but no makeup brand has anything that has ever made my lashes so long and full. FALSIES by Maybelline is the best mascara for huge lashes and eyes that pop!

    Makeup Tip: Use a heated curing wand for your eye lashes after you've applied your mascara, and than use a coat of Waterproof mascara over that. Your Lashes will be huge and natural looking, people will comment on how beautiful your eyes look. :)
