It was a busy weekend for the Milwaukee Admirals, including 2 wins in Houston and a new addition to the roster.

That new addition to the roster came in the form of forward Colin Wilson. Wilson, who was drafted 7th overall in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft, was reassigned to Milwaukee by the Admirals parent club Nashville Predators. In the 10 games he played with the Predators, he tallied 1 goal and 1 assist. This season is Wilson's first season playing professionally, as he spent the last two seasons with Boston University of the NCAA. Wilson made his Milwaukee debut Sunday evening in Houston, ending the night with 1 SOG an a -1 +/- rating.

Now onto the weekend wins. The Ads swept the Houston Aeros over the weekend, beginnng with Friday nights 3-2 win. D Robert Dietrich opened the scoring with his goal at the 6:53 of the first period, marking his first goal of the season. Less than a minute later, F Mark Santorelli capitalized on the Peter Zingoni holding penalty, scoring a power-play goal at 7:40 of the first frame. Just over a minute into the first period, Milwaukee got their 3rd goal of the game courtesy of F Ryan Jones. Houston would light the lamp twice in the third period, but were unable to pull even with the Admirals, resulting in Milwaukee's 3-2 victory. Admirals G Chet Pickard made his fourth appearance of the season, and made 22 saves on 24 shots.

Win number two on the weekend came Sunday evening, with Milwaukee outscoring Houston 2-1 in an overtime decision. Milwaukee's F Ryan Jones was first to score, beating Houston goaltender Anton Khudobin at 4:19 of the first.  Houston evened the score with a Petr Kalus goal with 3 seconds left in the second period. The third period ended tied up at one, and it wasn't until 2:39 into the overtime frame that Milwaukee  F Cal O'Reilly broke the tie with a goal and earning the Admirals their second victory of the weekend. Milwaukee rookie goaltender Chet Pickard earned his second win of the weekend, stopping 25 of 26 shots he saw.

The Admirals continue their 8-game roadtrip Tuesday, taking on the San Antonio Rampage at 7:00pm. They'll stay in deep in the heart of Texas, for a 2-game series against the Texas Stars, who currently hold 1st place in the West Division. Milwaukee will end their roadtrip back in San Antonio, with a Saturday night contest against the Rampage.

More of the same. You just re-wrote the box scores. "This guy scored. Then this guy scored. Then this guy scored"

The Admirals need as much coverage as possible...but this isn't coverage. This is re-wording. I'll check in with you in a couple of months, if you're still here.

Surprise, surprise. Another miserable comment from Yonkfan...

I was hoping that Colin Wilson was going to blow up the stats on Sunday, but maybe it'll take a few games before he puts up any numbers. It's good to see Santorelli is starting score like his older brother!

    MilAdsFan76 -

    Miserable write-ups deserve miserable comments.

I'm with Yonkfan - I really would like some more detail. I wish this site didn't keep popping up in my Google News Reader.

It's hard to get good farm reports down here - so I'll take whatever I can get - but still......
