Michael Moore is evil

Isn't it capitalism that allows you to be rich?

"Capitalism is evil" is the conclusion of Michael Moore's coming film, "Capitalism:  A Love Story".

What an embarrassment.

"Capitalism is an evil, and you cannot regulate evil," the two-hour movie concludes.

"You have to eliminate it and replace it with something that is good for all people and that something is democracy."

Replace capitalism with democracy?  That doesn't even make sense.

He also features priests "who say capitalism is anti-Christian by failing to protect the poor."  So why don't those priests protect the poor?  Is something stopping them from raising money and devoting time.  I say it's anti-Christian for them to dictate how people use their own property.

The film isn't out yet, but based on the write-ups, it will be a disaster of distortions.  When Sanjay Gupta (quite liberal in his own right) thinks Moore is dead wrong, you know you have problems.

"Moore also warned other countries around the world against following the recent U.S. economic and political model."

So what socialist country does Michael Moore like better than the United States?  And don't write in by trying to prove the Netherlands, or France, or whatever:  Michael Moore says CAPITALISM is evil.  Not a mixed system.  I'll debate the U.S. being better than those places, but not right now.  Which socialist, fascist, communist, anarchist, or other system is better than capitalism?

Every possible experiment in socialism has been a colossal failure with millions dead from starvation.  It is a system that is pure evil; stealing from some to give to others and leaving everyone poor.

And if Michael Moore is advocating that, then he is the evil one.

Why don't pro capitalists come out with a movie of their own called "Capitalism Is Good" to counter Moore's "Capitalism Is Evil"? It's not as if capitalists don't have resources for it.

While waiting for Michael Moore's movie "Capitalism, A Love Story" to come out, I found this new movie about stock market corruption called "Stock Shock." I heard "Capitalism" is being well received at the Venice Film Fest.

In the meantime Stock Shock-The Movie"Stock Shock" follows several Sirius XM investors through their experience of watching their stock go from almost ten dollars a share---down to 5 cents/share. The movie suggests this might be due to flash trading, greedy hedge funds, "naked short selling" and other market manipulation by high rollers on Wall Street. I don't know if I'm a believer, but at least it gives a good review of how our stock markets are engineered.

What happened in Spain? The workers were actually in charge, we were building a society where hierarchy would be absent, but the fascists came and destroyed it.

I guess we shouldn't try to build a better world, since people obsessed with power and money always screw it up for us. I hope your possessions are worth living in bondage.

"Michael Moore is a hypocrite" might be a more accurate title. He's too stupid to be considered evil.

Queen - That sentence should be broken up. As in, socialism has been a colossal failure, and it has left millions dead. Not that every experiment in socialism has (though basically, that is true). And yes, Spain was a miserable failure. All of us are still waiting for that "better world" to be built...

Ken - Yes, but it's just not as eye-catching. You're correct though.

I find it funny that not one of you gets the irony of Michael Moore's hatred of capitalism. It is because of the capitalistic free market that Mr. Moore is a very rich man-I don't see hime sharing his wealth with any of you-you just share your wealth with him by going to see his movies.

Jarrett, while I find Michael Moore a ridiculous buffoon, but your statement, among others, is quite ridiculous. You and many others make the mistake, or perhaps it's deliberate, in believing the only choices are laissez-faire capitalism, totalitarianism, or anarchy. All these choices are deeply flawed.

Under communism, man takes advantage of man. Under laissez-faire capitalism, it's the exact opposite.

Ken - I understand a mixed system very well. Michael Moore is against capitalism, which means private property and competition in an economy. His movie isn't against "American Capitalism"...it is against capitalism. Even liberals say there is a place for competition (heck, Barack Obama favor merit pay). Michael Moore disagrees with that; he wants a system of single-payer for everything. He wants communism without the bloody killing fields. He is against your mixed system because he is against "capitalism".

I think Michael was trying to say that because the majority of modest capitalistic ventures of limited means will be driven out by larger established monopolistic corporations and larger competition. the majority of these smaller proprietors and partnerships fail. Whats left for these hapless individuals on the dole, in debt or now working for these same companies that put them out of business? Democracy. Therefore it is capitalism for democracy.

Cuba does not have millions of dead from starvation. In fact, the Cubans spend a fraction of what we do on health care and they live about as long.

And how does an unrestrained capitalistic system makes people poor? It creates a separate unregulated financial world (derivatives) which creates what is basically a huge ponzi scheme selling scam mortgages to people. And once it collapses, the rich who came up with the scheme is still "laughing all the way to the bank". Unrestrained capitalism is a spoils system where "winner takes all" and the ones who helped them get rich are scammed and left with nothing.

Jarrett wrote:"Which socialist, fascist, communist, anarchist, or other system is better than capitalism?"

The question is not valid as fascism is merely unrestrained capitalism. The Nazi German company IG Farben was the largest corporation in the world during WW2. They produced the Zyklon B gas that killed millions of Jews.

    Capitalism needs to be restrained.

You selfish, ignorant, self-obsessed pseudo-intellectual losers. I can almost hear your demands for help when things get just a little bit difficult for you. On the bright side, socialists will be there to help you out. You'll disrespect them for it though. Now off you go and believe the next thing you're told. Although it'll probably be from an an advert....

... I have to agree with anonymous. This article is one of the most pathetic things I've ever read on the internet.
Although, considering all the conservatives out there that rant about everything but don't ffer any constructive ideas themselves, I suppose there is probably worse.
