Maybe Roger Penske could turnaround Michigan
I didn’t know much personally about Roger Penske except that he was well known in the auto racing and automotive industries. I read on Wikipedia ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roger_Penske) that he also has a Ph. D. in political science, so maybe he would be the right man to turn Michigan around with his business savvy. So I am nominating Roger Penske as an Independent to be Michigan’s next governor!!!
Michigan is aching for a strong leader with a proven private-sector business record. With the growth of the Penske name in the sports and business worlds, would he possibly be interested in leading Michigan in 2012? Yes, he will be approaching seventy-five years old by then, but age, just like skin color or religious leanings, should not be a factor in someone’s ability to lead a state or a nation. So I am throwing out rumors that we need Roger Penske to lead Michigan from dead last to a top ten state by 2016.
Why Mr. Penske? He has his hand on the pulse of the auto industry, buying up dealerships and growing the auto racing brand. Who better than a business success with an understanding of not only Michigan and our rich automotive heritage but also global economics and the beauty of the combustion engine?
We need a person with Mr. Penske’s credentials to tear up the current leadership plan for Michigan and shake things up. I have said all of my life that a democratic government should be the best run business plan because it forces the working-class to give up our earnings to support this ever-growing beast. Why not, then, actually have a corporate CEO with the track record (pardon the pun) to bring a global business approach to running Michigan?
Anyway, I am throwing this false rumor that Roger Penske will run for governor in 2012. We need a visionary person like Mr. Penske, a person who helped make Detroit presentable for a Super Bowl a few years back, to grab this state and shake the politicians and government workers out of their decades-old fogs and realize they work for us and are killing us.
Well, I guess a person can dream about having a true business world success like Mr. Penske run for our governor’s seat. Sure sounds better than retreads like Cox, Cherry and the other recycled political clods who keep dragging us deeper in debt and pad their own retirements.
Please think about it, Mr. Penske. Michigan needs private-sector leadership in government, not a bunch of finger pointers like we now have.

Great article except that Roger does not have a PhD of any kind, nor does it say so in Wikipedia.
