Chicago 2016 Olympics-Michelle Obama
Michelle Obama responded to reporters Monday night about the recent Chicago crime wave having an effect on the White House's campaign for the Chicago 2016 Olympic bid.
The First lady boarded a plane Tuesday night on route to Copenhagen to make her pitch to the IOC to hold the Olympic Games in Chicago.
Michelle Obama made this statement ,
"You know, there are a number of big cities that are bidding. And when you live in a big city there are issues that are unique to urban settings. Chicago isn't unique in that way. But that's one of the things that I can talk about personally. I mean, you know, most of these Games are taking place blocks away from my house.
The last thing that the White House and Michelle Obama needs is the media splashing the recent crime wave all over the news. It looks like the bid will go down to the wire. President Barack Obama has invested a considerable amount of his global political clout into this project by making the trip and to fall short now would be a major blow to his winning image as he looks to go to battle on health care in the coming weeks.

S**tcago might not be unique in gang-violence, but there isn't a major city in the US that can touch them when it comes to political corruption, hell they might even be world-class in that department.
40 some children have been killed in Chicago so far this year. Why would the Olympics want to go to a city more dangerous than Baghdad?
Hell, they should incorporate the South Side of Chicago into the Olympic games. Imagine just trying to escape with your life.
DRH, that can be the newest Olympic game. Start at the school where those sub-humans killed that poor kid the other day. Give the Olympiads a mapped out course and it starts at midnight on a Friday. It courses for 5 miles through Obama's old neighborhood through the south side and ends at Bill Ayers house. The winner gets to live another day.
