President Barack Obama gave his long awaited speech yesterday on America's role in Afghanistan and Pakistan. It lasted about 40 minutes and was full of interesting facts about his plan for the region. I put together a summary of some key points he made. The main goal of the Afghanistan policy according to the Obama administration is to disrupt and defeat al Qaeda in Afghanistan and Pakistan. The key is for the United states and iits allies to surge their forces at the same time while also starting training of Afghanistan soldiers. Pakistan will be given 1.5 billion a year in economic assistance for five years.
Over ten weeks the President chaired nine meetings with his national security team.

Obama is a liar and a fraud- he is perpetuating a war I have protested for many years. Sadly many people still believe that he is someone to be revered. It is time for people to face the truth- they backed the wrong horses (I include McCain because he is despicable as well)
We are now as a nation almost bankrupt, more people are unemployed, more soldiers have been sent overseas, and NOTHING of the promises made have been kept.

Ok, i don't know how old all of the people who post are but i am 16, and most likely know more and understand politics better. No matter who the president is there will be criticism and most likely the reason you are bashing him is because he is black. just saying.
also, Rome wasn't built in a day, ever heard that. so then why do keep insisting Obama hasn't done anything when all his proposals take time to swing into affect and bring about this "Change" he promised.
third, Obama doesn't change the ROE, ever. it is up to NATO and the leading Officer either on site or in combat- the commander and chief doesn't have that power. he also doesn't have to say "Win" or "Victory". No one ever knows the outcome of war and honestly we may never win this one.
One last thing. If you call Obama a fraud and a liar, go back to school. all presidents tell us what they want us to believe, you call him a fraud because you don't like his choice, and thats ok... ITS CALLED AN OPINION.

And last time I checked, we are not in war. If we are, please tell me... because I do not remember reading that Congress had declared war.
You don't seem to understand WHY a president shouldn't tell "us what we want to hear." 1. He will lose support of the people. 2. He will lose the support of the House. 3. He will lose the support of the Senate. 4. He becomes a president with no power.
It's all about pleasing the people and he's not doing a very good job.

Afghanistan War authorization: Public Law 107 - 40 is the authorization for the Afghanistan War and the "War on terror."
