An image of Michelle Obama in the likeness of an ape that shows up as the first result on Google images was originally taken down by the search giant. Let the games begin, the image has now become a coveted prize by hit hungry webmasters anxious to drive traffic to their websites.
The Michelle Obama ape image has popped up on several websites and Google made an initial statement upon taking down the Michelle Obama image previously, that's where the problem starts, Google is in the search business, not in the politics business as this issue slowly gains steam and is the subject of public debate. Michelle Obama History Protocol Leadership Mentoring
The first image that Google removed was on a website that Google flagged for being a website that broke numerous policies and guide lines in Googles code of conduct. Whether Google decides to go after the rest of the webmasters that are looking to make fast bucks on the image is still up in the air.
Personally I feel Google should not delve to far into this subject in order to remain impartial to search results, steer clear of Republican hate mongers, and keep their objective image intact. If they decide to go after some of the unethical webmasters showing the image then I will not complain.

Eh...Dont matter to me. I saw a zillion of Bush with monkey faces etc but I am a fan of neither presidents to really care.
I suppose the wives of the presidents are a little different. If they are very involved, they will take more heat than if they are less involved politically. I just did a search and found that picture To be fair I looked up Laura Bush and someone put her face on a naked person and another with the Joker face.
There will always be lack of respect for people in higher power. it is what it is. I agree Google should stay out of censorship so long as TOC are followed.
How many caricatures of Bush as a monkey did we see?
Hilarious, YOU criticizing "hit hungry webmasters" and knocking those wanting to make a "fast buck"? Is this the same so called "writer" whose uses the "Michelle Obama Examiner" to garner hits and used the N word over and over to garner hits? (All the while provided cover by Examiner BECAUSE you were garnering "hits" for them?) P L E A S E, crawl back into your hole and stay there.
"How many caricatures of Bush as a monkey did we see?"
Check it out yourself. Definitely more than one, more like a few pages.
Does anyone know the history of the image? The site garnering hits has actually taken it down and added a badly translated apology stating that the image was basically automatically added content. Someone suggested that it was from celebrityape.com, but they don't have a copy of it on their site...
Mr. Bryan is correct. As pathetic as this image is, Google is only the messenger. The real tests of our ideals of free speech are when the messages are offensive.
The best way to silence a moron (the poster of the image or any racially offensive message) is to let him speak and let him make a fool of himself.
we saw so many because Bush was a wild stupid ape, she is not
Oh I see it's all good to slam Dubya but because "dixie" says he is "a wild stupid ape" and michelle is not. Thanks for splaining that to everybody "dixie." Now go drink some more of your PC Kool-Aid.
Stormfrontdotorg has that picture
stormfrontdotorg had it on a Robert Mugabe thread.
Maybe this is a little too close to the truth! With her protruding jawline and toothy mouth; ...let's face it there is at least some resemblence.
Likewise with some of the chimp poses of GWB.(But that was OK)
Michelle is not the president, she is the 1st lady. Where there any pictures of Laura Bush looking like an ape?
ok while screaming racism, please take a look at this google search for George Bush (under images) - now..what ya got to say?
All I ask is why is it OK to slam the conservatives but not the Liberals. Liberals are all about "Free Speach" until it hurts something they do not like. You cant have it both ways.
I liked that picture.
Got something to say?
