Michelle Obama is not ugly. There's more to life than that , Michelle Obama is not a Hollywood actress or runway model. She is the First Lady of the U.S. so lets compare her to her peers. She looks a hell of allot better then Barbara Bush did when she was the first lady ,but in all seriousnes I want to take a deeper look behind some of the media attacks that have taken place since Barack Obama first took office. First of all you need to realize that most of the media behind the Michelle Obama attacks are compensated using the "gawker model" pay scale. The more people that read the stories , the more they make , so many of these writers are writing pieces that are sensational in order to gain the most attention for their stories. This is part of the reason why so many of these low quality pieces are being peddled across the internet saying awful things about the first lady. That is the first level of this phenomenon but their is a deeper meaning. The second reason is because some readers just flat out do not want to see a black women splashed across the pages of fashion and style magazines as a role model ,the fact that Michelle Obama has dark skin only further alienates these bigots, It's as simple as that , until the average person realizes how huge internet dollars are you will not begin to understand the reasoning behind what writers will and will not write about .
The fact of the matter is that these writers have many readers that want to hear the racially charged writing and sterotyped articles to make themselves feel better , on any given day these writers have hundreds of comments on their articles as a vote of approval while my articles get a couple dozen , they may read my articles but they will not comment ,so it is not so much racism that is driving this media coverage it is also economy and capitalism at work . The top Michelle Obama bashers make pretty good money.
The fact of the matter is if I was in a room with Michelle Obama and any other black women in the world I would pobably be more attracted to Michelle Obama, now that's sexy.

While no Kerry Washington, Michelle Obama IS a pleasant-looking woman, with a nice figure. She's about on par with Sarah Palin (who ain't Kate Beckinsale, either.) Those gorgeous kids didn't get their looks from their geeky dad, with his Ratatouille ears and cyanotic lips. At any rate, she's a BIG improvement over Pantsuit Lady (the female counterpart of Newt Gingrich). Mostly, women seem to hate her--they always hate the Alpha Female.

I am a Republican and a personal attack on Michelle Obama gains nothing. If you disagree with her or her husband about policy or ideology that is one thing. But personally attacking them serves no purpose and is high school. I wish the liberal media would treat Sarah Palin the same. If you dont agree with her that is fine but to personally attack her is not mature or the issue. This is about policy and decision making as to the direction of our county not looks or any other personal characteristics.
I am also a Conservative & do not have the same beliefs as the presideent. However, I've also been around long enough to see enough First Ladies attend events with their husbands in an appropriate, current, classy outfit. Her see through cardigan, black t-shirt, pearls & some shiny pleated skirt would not have been the first choiceof Jackie, Lady Bird, Nancy, Laura or even Barbara. I find it hard to believe that someone on her staff went to her closet, chose that outfit for the Tucson Memorial and said..."This is it!" We arepaying that aidee of hers toomuch.

I think the reason for all this Michelle backlash is how the media is completely building her up as the most beautiful women on the planet. She's not beautiful but she's not ugly either. With all the other previous recent first ladies, there never was this much attention on their looks/style. This is why there's a backlash on her. I think people are getting extremely tired with all of this unnecessary fawning the media has over the first family, when there's more important things that need attention.

The catty remarks about Michelle's looks are from people who either think they are beautiful or have spent their whole life being lauded as some example of natural beauty and wonder why their looks haven't opened doors for them.
