Summer Solstice 2009: Is it more than just a change of seasons this year?

There has been a lot of chatter in the Metaphysical chat rooms this year about the up coming Summer Solstice. The Solstice takes place this year at 1:45 AM EDT on Sunday the 21st. That's when the direct rays of the sun reach 23.5 degrees North Latitude and Summer begins in the Northern Hemisphere. It also means, of course, that Winter is starting in the Southern Hemisphere.

The ancient cultures have always seen this time of the year as a place for new beginnings. The Native Americans, for example, often held rituals and dances to honor the Sun. It was, and still is , considered a sacred time of the year. The Sioux would actually plant a ceremonial tree that was viewed as a visible connection to Heaven and Earth. They would then form a circle of teepees to represent the Cosmos in the ceremony. Similar celebrations, in other cultures, take place all over the globe. It's a magical time for many.

This year, the Solstice is expected...by a majority in the Metaphysical game...to be "extra special".  :)  Why? The collective vibration of the planet is rising. Many believe we are moving into a New Age...the human consciousness, as a whole, is changing. This is all tied into the prophecies surrounding the end date of the Mayan Calender in 2012 and something called the Harmonic Convergence back in 1987. According to those "in the know", on the Summer Solstice this year there will be a wave of manifestation energy moving across the planet. If things have been stalled in your plans, after the 21st, things should open up! So, make sure you are focused on what you wish to bring into your life over the next few days. Remember what we discussed in previous articles: The universe will bring you what ever you are focused upon. Your attention is the key....what you think, you create! Now, the universe does not discriminate between thoughts. If you are focused on something "bad", it will show you that solution. It's the only way the game can be fair. So, if it's true that there will be a big push of manifestation energy on the 21st, think good thoughts!

I know I have tried to back everything up, that I have written so far, with real science. This time, there's not much I can show you in that department. :) So, take all of this with a grain of salt....but it never hurts to think positive!
