Black Funeral completes "Vukolak"

Houston black metal pillars Black Funeral -- along with Imprecation and a few others, Houston's only claim to having had black metal "back in the day" -- have completed recording their new album, Vukolak.

Due for release in early 2010, before the associated industrial/black metal project "Abomination Storm," the new CD returns to the roots of this esoteric band, whose lyrics and inspiration have touched on occult movements from Sumeria to Romania and beyond.

Within the same release, Black Funeral confirmed the addition of second member Priest Marchözelös (Thomas), who joins Akhtya Nachttoter (Michael Ford) in creating this otherworldly, spacious black metal.

Describing the new album as "no industrial, no polish, raw cult vampyric black metal," the band appear to be ready to re-enter a scene at a time when old school black metal, like old school death metal, is surging forward on a tide of popularity.
