Recession is a word. It has a tremendous impact on us psychologically. It is in the news and on television. Media constantly attacks us with a shock and awe of drama, woes, and news of how bad things are. The natural reaction is one of fear, anxiety, stress and hoplessness.
The fear comes from the unknown. Media paints sensational pictures of doom and gloom. It sells and some believe it. But media news is a commodity and a court in Florida ruled it as "entertainment" only having to meet the requirements of any Television show. TV shows entertain us by playing on our emotions. That is what "News" shows do.
Do a reality check. Look at your job, your finances, your bills, necessities and indulgencies. You may find you are not experiencing a recession. You can find out by evaluating your situation. You make an assessment, adjust what you need to adjust or continue on living your life. You have choices.
Fear is your enemy. Knowledge of your immediate situation keeps you out of the world drama and allows you the energy to do what really counts. You act locally. You start with your self, your surroundings, your job, your family and your community. Acting locally is the best way to stay empowered. Act with a touch humor, with friends, and most of all., with knowlege of what you have, what you need, and what you can do.
Don't miss the chance to ride a bike or take the bus once in a while.
