The time is Nau

Nau, the sister company to Horny Toad, "is a small group of people committed to positive change." Instead of business as usual Nau is looking to be "a force for change, [they] are not just looking to make some new clothes, [they] are aiming to redefine what it means to be successful" (source). Their products are 100% sustainable, they use the labor watch dog group Verite to monitor all of their overseas factories, purchase carbon offsets for all their shipping actions, and every single item they produce is fully recyclable.

These sorts of things - well-made, interesting clothing, from a company that carefully considers the impact and influence of its suppliers and contractors while taking care of, properly compensating and providing benefits for their employees while manufacturing clothing in a sustainable way is something more businesses ought to be considering for their own business model.

Horny Toad and Nau are on to something. They know that they can have a positive impact and they insist on running their businesses in such a manner that can bring about a brighter future for the people involved in the industry and all the people their products and people reach. Not to be too Polly-Anna here, but imagine what the world would be like if all businesses were run like that. It's hard to think that it would be a bad place to live, right?
