"It's not a fish until it is on the bank." -Irish Proverb.
The world of fashion is a weird place to inhabit sometimes. It often becomes laughable just as everyone involved starts taking it seriously. At times it seems that farcical and fabulous are more closely related than anyone is willing to admit. However this, like all generalizations, is highly erroneous.
Despite knowing this about the industry I love, and love to laugh at, sometimes there can be moments when you get sucked in by it all, when the power of the fashion, the spectacle of the event and the exuberance of the crowd is so overwhelming that you just have to give in and enjoy yourself.
That is what happened on Tuesday night (12/8/2009) when models wearing little else but a pair of PACT organic and sustainable skivvies took to the runway at the W Hotel in San Francisco's SoMa district. The sold out crowd erupted into unrestrained cheers, hoots and hollars as the young, slender and tall strode the runway at the fifth annual Gorgeous and Green fashion show.
PACT certainly landed this fish. Their designs are fun, the models were totally on their game and the response was all anyone in this industry could ever hope for. Bravo and congratulations to PACT for their inaugural runway show.
Please enjoy the slideshow of PACT's very first runway show.

Hey Kenneth - I was there too, covering it for SFBaystyle.com. Yep, the crowd did go wild over those undies. A grand time was had by all!
