You mean to drink more water, you really do. It can be hard, sometimes, to find the time, or a good water fountain that isn't too nasty to get your face close to. Add to that the recent kerfuffle over the fact that all those plastic water bottles are killing the polar bears or whatever and it is understandable why you're always walking around thirsty. For this reason, this installment of Accessories for Men will be all about the urban canteen.

Suddenly ubiquitous is the eco-friendly, re-usable, lifestyle water bottle from Swiss company, Sigg. Sigg started back in 1908 "making saucepans, frying pans and bottles, all of which sold rapidly and were immensely popular" [source]. Pressed from a single block of aluminum the now classic Sigg bottle is seamless and virtually indestructable. Best of all, due to the proprietary internal coating it is resistant to acidic juices, energy drinks, cocktails (think 1 liter Margarita!!) and virtually any consumable beverage. Also, according to Sigg you can expect your Sigg bottle to last 10-20 years before you have to toss it into a recycling bin.

 Though Klean Kanteen hasn't been in business since 1908, they have been making very nice stainless steel water bottles since 2004. Klean Kanteen's products are beautifully and thoughtfully designed with large openings and wide, sweeping threads where the top screws in. This makes them easy to drink from and easy to clean. Since their bottles are made out of 18/8 food-grade stainless steel they retain no unwanted odors or flavors and they are super durable.

Zojirushi has been around since 1948 and their specialty has always been vacuum bottles. What this basically means is unlike the two bottles mentioned above, a Zojirushi bottle will keep the liquid of your choice cold for several hours. The one drawback to this design is that a .5 liter bottle takes up about the same amount of space as a 1 liter from Sigg or Klean Kanteen. However, if keeping things hot or cold is high on you list of priorities then this little jug is for you.
