As I passed the last month in NYC I saw the seasons change and watched street style of cutoff denim morph into the plaid shirt. Red plaid to be exact. I do love the plaid shirt, but challenge you to think to take on the trend in a different way. Well, you could go vintage. Red Light (University District & Capitol Hill) tends to have the best vintage selections guys. They do the sorting for you.
For a new plaid look, I recommend a Woolrich coat at Blackbird in Ballard. Fab. Oslo's A Men's Store, has a good cross section including a nice tartan by GANT. If you can’t commit to a shirt, try a plaid drivers cap. Oslo's has these great ones by Block…yes, Oslo's is carrying hats now. Super fab.
Something that is extra cool in keeping up with the plaid trim are the yummy v neck Woolrich (Woolrich again. Sense a theme?) sweaters with the plaid elbow detail at Marios. Umm…they are practically sold out, but if you run down right now, you may luck out. RL
