Senior F/C Pierre Henderson-Niles is no longer a member of the University of Memphis Men's Basketball team, according to a press release on the school's official website, gotigersgo.com.
"As I told the team, I have a soft spot for Pierre, and I really want to see him do well," said Pastner. "He's a fine young man, and I am proud of how hard he worked to get in shape to play this season and also how hard he worked in the classroom so that he can graduate in May.
"Moving forward, we will do all we can for Pierre as he finishes up the academic work toward completing his degree. We wish Pierre nothing but the best."
Henderson-Niles was a heralded recruit out of Ridgeway High School in Memphis, but struggled to stay in game-shape after an injury before his freshman season. Henderson-Niles lost more than 60lbs prior to this season in order to help his teammates. The reason for his departure is unknown.
