You're not alone as an intern
Remember to keep your patient safe.
You have your MD degree , but you've just started training in your specialty, and will continue training for 3 - 7 years, maybe even more.
Don't be a stranger
As an intern, you need to to call your chief resident early and often. Your seniors need to know about important developments in the patient's condition because they are primarily responsible for the patients on the team.
Ask for help
If you're in doubt at all about how to manage a patient, call your senior, chief, or fellow. It's also important to remember that even if your senior is not in house, there are always other senior residents around on other services who can help.
Remember, "YOU ARE NOT WEAK IF YOU CALL FOR HELP." Repeat this again and again until you believe this too.
There is hope
Your senior residents are there to help you in making clinical decisions.
