Reported gender of survey participants

Day seven of the "2010 Medical Marijuana Survey" (sponsored by the grassroots organization Legalize Utah) at 4:20 a.m. continues to reveal more interesting and surprising facts about medical marijuana patients and some of their personal and endearing stories.

With 69 anonymous survey participants, 81% are male and 19% are female.

Another interesting result is the question of current age which ranged from 18-21 at 14%, 22-25 years at 10%, 26-30 yeas at 14% and a whopping 61% reporting ages 30 and above.

As to how these medical marijuana patients chose to utilize their herbal medication, 70% report smoking it, 18% chose to vaporize, 9% chose to eat it and 2% drink it.

As to the question of when these survey participants first used cannabis for medical reasons, 2% reported starting between ages 1-2, 23% reported ages 13-18. 30% ages 19-25, another 14% ages 26-30 and 32% ages 30 or older.

Question 11 is important and often asked "Why are you willing to risk incarceration for your medicine"?  Answers include:

"Nothing else helps me feel alright".

"Because my health is more valuable than my freedom".

"Because it is a plant that helps us in so many ways".

"I know what I am putting in to my body".

"I live in California where people don't give it a second thought".

"Marijuana is not bad for you if vaporized".

"Drugs that doctors prescribe have chemicals that can be bad for your liver and have other bad side effects".

"Because it works".

Have you ever purchased any "tobacco paraphernalia" in Utah?, i.e., pipes, bubblers, hookahs?

Do you use cannabis in place of synthetic or prescription narcotic drugs?

Question 9 of survey is of particular interest to Legalize Utah and asks: "Have you ever purchased any 'tobacco' paraphernalia' in Utah, such as bongs or pipes?"  Answers to this question show that 63% have purchased glass pipes, 34% glass bubblers, 13% purchased traditional hookahs, 53% bought rolling papers, 41% bought bongs and 6% purchased "other" items, all legally, in local Utah "head" or "smoke" shops, as long as it is never referred to as anything other than "for tobacco use only".

A very important question is #7, which is "Do you use cannabis in place of synthetic or prescription narcotic drugs?"  83% of those responding indicate they do use cannabis in place of synthetic or narcotic prescription drugs.

The LIVESTREAM "2010 Medical Marijuana Survey" will continue for 3 more days with final results published by the end of the week.

The results are education, interesting and truthful and it is clear it will be a great informative piece which will be shared with all Utah lawmakers and current candidates as the goal of Legalize Utah is to "Educate then Legislate".

Shouldn't adult citizens of a so-called free country
have the freedom to chose what goes into their own bodies in the privacy of their own homes?

I'm 70 years now and have partisipated in our great medicine since 1954-naturally not as a medicine-didn't realize back then that it had the absolute best solution to most human ailments. We are just around the corner now so keep up the good work.
Thanks for helping to get us out where we need to be.

As more people learn of all the medical benefits of cannabis, and refuse to allow people to keep suffering, the politicians that stand up for it, will see a landslide victory.
Seems so many are afraid to publicly show their support.....if they only knew.

Cannabis cures what ails me, Cannabis is a plant. If a tomato plant cured people of their ailments, would the government outlaw the tomato?
