Oregon NORML opened the doors at its new location at 322 SE 82nd Ave in Portland, Oregon on July 31. A homegrown barbeque was served while Russ Belville of the NORML Show Live broadcast to podcast viewers. The press made an appearance and had an opportunity to tour the cafe with Madeline Martinez before the grand reopening. The attached slideshow contains pictures of the cafe at the grand reopening.
Now that the dust is settling from the move, cafe patrons and volunteers are getting into the swing of the new schedule and location:
- The cafe will be open from 10am to 9pm Monday through Saturday, although later hours are possible on Friday and Saturday.
- The cafe will be closed on Sundays.
- Each Wednesday, the cafe will show a free movie and offer movie treats on the menu, like popcorn and soda.
- On the second and fourth Saturday of each month, the cafe will host the Oregon NORML OMMP cardholder's meetings, and as always, the doors lock at 12 noon. This Saturday, August 14, is the first cardholder's meeting to be held at the new cafe.
