One of the most comprehensive and best run internet media sites in the Tampa Bay area is one that focuses on Sarasota. RadioSRQ which started out as a tiny internet radio station called “Mady Radio” in the late 90’s has become one of the most popular websites for information on the cultural scene in Sarasota, FL.

RadioSRQ was founded by Madeline McKeon and Ann Corcoran, each of whom has had a longtime career in broadcasting. Mady, as she likes to be called, has worked as a broadcaster/writer and producer in major markets such as New York, Philadelphia and San Francisco. Ann Corcoran began her broadcasting career in Baltimore as an interviewer and commentator.

RadioSRQ features a weekly segment called “Ann and Mady Around Town” with all the latest news on what’s happening in Sarasota. The site also has interviews with celebrities, authors, politicians and newsmakers who come to town conducted by Ann, Mady and other contributors in the broadcasting industry in Sarasota.

The RadioSRQ website is designed and maintained by Patricia Arvin who joined the team in 2008.

According to Ann Corcoran, the site averages 125, 000 hits per month and is growing as more people are finding it as a way to keep in touch with the cultural going’s on in Sarasota.

Singer Kaye Stevens, who has had a long and successful career in show business, makes her home part of the year in Ocala, FL, just outside of the Tampa Bay area. Stevens has starred on television, films and nightclubs around the country and traveled with Bob Hope to Viet Nam in the 1960’s. She’s worked with just about everyone in show business including memorable shows with “The Rat Pack” (Frank, Dino and Sammy).
