Los Angeles, CA- (Examiner.com/Thirty Seven Media)- “Kid Cudi Arrested Then Released” was the headline and story reported on www.globalgrind.com. Based on the video footage and photo(s) there is no way to determine whether “Kid Cudi,” a rapper, was arrested.
Typically when police are conducting investigations they have the power to detain suspects, with or without handcuffs, or arrest them. During the course of their investigation if they determine that crime has been committed they will inform a suspect that they are formally under arrest.
None of the video footage from the, “Kid Cudi Arrested Then Released,” story or the photos capture any officer reading anyone their rights or mention that any of the people shown in the video or photo(s) are under arrest. The footage only assumes that the sujects in handcuffs are under arrest.
Then in the same posting the author writes, “Kid Cudi was NOT arrested. He was falsely accused and immediately released.” Although the story seems to “back track” from its’ initial headline statement this example illustrates how a headline, photo and a video can be misleading.
Being photographed in handcuffs, assuming that is “Kid Cudi” in the photograph, is more damaging than a “Perp Walk.” A “Perp Walk” is an American slang term which refers to the police practice of intentionally parading an arrested suspect.” When a reporter fails gather all the facts or evidence before publishing a photo or video the only thing that is happening is a poorly constructed "Perp Walk".
