On Friday, Jim Douglas and Kim Berk had their farewell show at WKJY/KJOY 98.3 FM. The duo is bringing their morning show chemistry to CBS Radio’s Fresh 102.7/WWFS, starting Wednesday, October 7.
“Jim and Kim” teamed up for eight years at Farmingdale, New York-based KJOY.
Meantime, the hand off was completed, as Steve Harper was introduced to the audience during the “Jim and Kim” finale. He’ll take over the “KJOY Morning Show” on Wednesday, as well. Harper is a local radio veteran, having worked at WBLI for about 25 years.
WKJY Program Director Bill Edwards told Examiner.com via e-mail, “I’ve known Steve since 1985 and have the utmost respect for his talent and dedication to radio and Long Island.”
In the early part of this decade, Edwards said, Harper with Maria Garcia, known as “Steve and Maria,” was a powerhouse program with women.
“He’s a street fighting morning man and I am thrilled to welcome him to the KJOY family,” Edwards praised.
Edwards said the station is currently in the process of searching for Harper’s on-air partner.

I miss Kim & Jim..........will now go to 102.7
Maria is not even on the air anymore... It's Steve & Perry.. Why can't they hold onto a morning spot?
kim & jim were really like family - they connected with their audience. Perri has the most annoying voice and she lacks the warmth and personality of Kim & Jim - there is no chemistry - I hope cupcake is good as well as Jims son - I will now find them on their new station - goodbye k-joy
