Sara Jane Blazo, the owner of The Massage Mentor, is a dynamic massage therapist with a fresh outlook on life and the business of massage in general.
At the young age of 40, Sara was working as an actress and model until one day she realized she needed a second career. “I discovered I wasn’t going to become a ‘star' at 40. I met a PT (personal trainer) and worked part time for him. He led me to massage.”
Sara went on to the Professional School of Massage in Langhorne, PA where she completed a 600 hour training course. In business for the past 12 years, she’s had her national certification for 10 and has gone on to study a number of different bodywork modalities. She’s proficient in Hot Stone Massage, Reiki Level II, Tachyon Energy Work, Neuromuscular Therapy, Lypossage, and Fibromyalgia Therapy as well.
When asked what her favorite moments have been as a therapist, Sara noted that she has had quite a few. The ones that really stand out in her mind are those during which she was able to really help someone find relief from their pain or cure their pain and stress issues through hands-on body contact and intuition. Sara notes, “It’s amazing to know that you have truly helped another.”
Sara’s greatest achievement has been her ability to grow her massage business herself. As a sole proprietor, she understands the importance of being able to build a massage practice without spending too much time (or money) focused on advertising and marketing. She put brochures advertising her business in local pharmacies and from there built the first 30% of her business. Another 30% of her business came from being in a great location with signage and the next from spending the first few years paying for a yellow pages advertisement. Other than that, her business has grown via word of mouth.
Her main goal now is to help other massage therapists realize their own potentials. As she reaches a point where she’s ready to retire from the physically demanding part of her business, Sara has turned her focus towards helping other therapists become successful. She hopes to use her business, The Massage Mentor, to do just that.
Sara is located in the Bucks County area, just north of Philadelphia. To reach her about massage or mentoring services, contact her directly at (215) 431-6883 or via email at themassagementor@gmail.com. You can also visit The Massage Mentor online at http://www.themassagementor.com.
