Massage therapy is an art that introduces mediums that help to support tissues. Mud, clay and seaweed are known for their ability to noursh and exfoliate the skin. Humic acids work to draw out impurities. The massage therapist works as an artist to apply the medium in the desired context. Mud can be applied after it has been warmed. Some spas have special equipment and access to mud and clay sources. Spas with these functionalities offer full mud immersion. The client soaks completely in warmed mud or covers themselves in clay and lays in the sun.

For a mud wrap, the client is exfoliated first,  then the mud is applied with the therapists hands or a bristle brush. The client is covered in a a plastic wrap to keep them from getting cool. A thermal blanket and blanket are added to maintain a comfortable body temperature. Next the client is cocooned by a sheet and given an eye pillow. The client relaxes for 25 minutes while foot and scalp massage are performed.

The mud is removed with hot towels and an aromatherapy lotion is massaged into the rest of the body. The massage treatment is customized to meet the clients needs. Areas of tension are addressed and client requests are incorporated. This body mask is more than a session, it is an experience. Therapie of Las Vegas offers 3 types of body masks.  The choices are;  Nourishing with green tea, ginger and sea enzyme.  Stimulating with chai soy mud. Who needs coffee? And Detoxifying with volcanic clay. Great for the day after a night on the town. Plan to allot either 80 or 100 minutes to the treatment iteslf. You will want to arrive a little early and perhaps lounge for a short while after and drink water or herbal tea. Therapie has a respite area and a shower. Call 702-202-1400 to schedule or learn more  about the benefits of a body mask treatment.
