Robert Frager – Making a difference locally, nationally & internationally

Robert Frager has made a difference in the lives of thousands of people in the fields of Transpersonal Psychology, Education, Aikido and Spirituality.

In 1968 he returned from Japan after studying with the Founder of Aikido for 2-1/2 years, O Sensei. He subsequently founded the UC Berkeley Aikido Club; the UCSC (University of California at Santa Cruz) Aikido Club in 1969; the Aikido Club at ITP in 1974, and the Decurion Aikido Club in Los Angeles in 2006. He was awarded a 7th degree black belt in Tokyo in 2007.

He currently heads a new Aikido Association, the Western Aikido Association.

He estimates he has taught over 2,000 Aikido students and this figure does notinclude workshops, seminars and guest classes. Many of his students now hold the advanced black belt ranks of 5th, 6th and 7th degree (or dan) and are Aikido Instructors themselves.

In 1968, he became the first Aikido instructor to teach workshops at Esalen Institute and has continued to spread Aikido’s unique message to the world.

Robert Frager has also written a major textbook in Pschology, which has been in print for 36 years. The 7th edition of “Personality and Personal Growth” is in the works. He has served on the Executive Board of Division 32 of the American Psychological Association as well as serving as the past President of Association for Transpersonal Psychology. And he will be a keynote speaker at the association’s 2012 conference.

He is a leader in The Jerrahi Sufi order, a cultural, educational and social relief organization with branches in Europe, South America, and the United States. He has personally brought Bosnian refugees to the US and raised money for famine relief throughout the world.

And he has presented at national and international conferences on psychology and Sufism.
