Event review: Action Martial Arts Magazine Hall of Fame 2010

Martial artists train for many years to hone their skills, becoming strong mentors, performers and teachers. A martial arts hall of fame event is a wonderful opportunity to be recognized and honored by our martial arts colleagues and masters. It is a public "thank you" for contributions and dedication to the martial arts. The Action Martial Arts Magazine Hall of Honors and Spirit Awards Banquet weekend, held January 8-10, 2010 in Atlantic City, New Jersey, was precisely that kind of event.

Hosted by Grandmaster Alan Goldberg, the hall of fame weekend began with martial arts superstars from across the world gathering to create one of the largest martial arts trade shows in the United States. The Tropicana Casino and Hotel Resort was host to demonstrations and seminars by many legendary martial artists including Don "The Dragon" Wilson, Michael Jai White, Christine Bannon-Rodrigues, Bill Wallace, Chuck Zito, Cynthia Rothrock and many more.  The event highlight was the awards dinner which had more than 1200 people in attendance. Actor and performer Joe Piscopo had the crowd on its feet with a song tribute to New Jersey. Dubbed the "Academy Awards of Martial Arts", legendary grandmasters in attendance included Grandmaster Ji Han Jae and Grandmaster Robert A. Cheezic. Just these two warriors together represent over 100 years of martial arts excellence! This year marked the 10th anniversary of the Action Martial Arts Magazine Hall of Honors. Martial artists around the world anxiously anticipate the next. Congratulations to Grandmaster Goldberg on an exciting event.
