Maroon 5 fans got a pleasant surprise when the band's new single Misery was briefly available for digital download on Monday morning. The first single from Maroon 5's upcoming album Hands All Over was reported to hit radio stations on June 28. Monday, June 21st maroon5.com posted a reminder that the single would be released digitally on Tuesday but some fans had discovered that the single was already available on iTunes and Amazon.com very early Monday morning. The song was eventually removed from online stores but it was already circulating on the Internet, including on YouTube.

Misery is already a hit with fans. Maroon 5 didn't seem upset about the leak as band members Adam Levine and James Valentine took to Twitter, glad that fans liked the song and that the leak hadn't come sooner.

As It Won't Be Soon Before Long seemed like a departure from Maroon 5's debut album Songs About Jane, fans didn't know what direction the music might take on the next album. Putting legendary producer Robert "Mutt" Lange into the mix created bigger expectations. Misery has delivered, containing the best of hitsThis Love and Makes Me Wonder, funky bass lines, unforgettable melodies, lovelorn lyrics and a catchy chorus. Misery has the potential to be this summer's pop hit and could launch Hands All Over as another platinum selling album.
