Michael Dell, founder, chairman and CEO of Round Rock-based Dell Inc., ranks as the world’s 37th richest person, with an estimated net worth of $13.5 billion, according to a new ranking from Forbes magazine.
Dell is tied on this year’s list with Microsoft Corp. co-founder Paul Allen. The two men are among the world’s six richest tech billionaires, according to Mashable.
Last year, Dell appeared at No. 25 on the Forbes list, with an estimated net worth of $12.3 billion.
Topping this year’s list of the world’s richest people is Mexican telecommunications titan Carlos Slim and his family, whose net worth totals $53.5 billion, according to Forbes.
At No. 2 is Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates ($53 billion), followed by mega-investor Warren Buffett ($47 billion).
Forbes put Dell at 13th place last year on its list of the richest Americans.
