Super Bowl-bound New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees, who was a star QB at Austin’s Westlake High School, is the first football player to be featured in a Warner Bros. animated fine art lithograph and celluloid.
The limited-edition “Catch Dat Brees” art salutes the second time in NFL history that a quarterback has eclipsed the 5,000-yard passing mark. The Brees Dream Foundation will benefit from sales of the art—a numbered lithograph or a hand-painted celluloid, each signed by Brees.
The art depicts Brees completing a pass to Bugs Bunny. Other Looney Toons characters featured in the art are Daffy Duck, the Tasmanian Devil, Tweety and Pepé Le Pew.
“Catch Dat Brees” is the first animated Warner Bros. sports limited edition to feature an athlete in nearly a decade. The art is being sold by Broadman Fine Arts Inc.
Brittany Brees, Drew’s wife, said: “The Brees Dream Foundation is committed to providing care, education and opportunities for children, and this wonderful project with Warner Bros. is a part of our ongoing efforts in New Orleans.”
Brews and his New Orleans teammates will face the Indianapolis Colts on Feb. 7 in the Super Bowl.
