The stage at Bloedel Reserve overlooks the beauty of Puget Sound and was the perfect background for the performance of the Liverpool Trio. The Trio consisting of David Lanz on piano, Gary Stroutsos on flute, and Walter Gray on cello performed for a sold out crowd this past weekend.
Over the past five years, these three friends and musicians have worked together on various studio projects and concert dates, but recently came together as a trio to perform David’s arrangements from the recording Liverpool Re-Imagining the Beatles. Their sound is elegant and contemporary, yet retains a beautiful timeless and classical musicality.

The concert included songs from their Liverpool Re-Imagining the Beatles CD, as well as David Lanz performing some of his many classic pieces including, Cristofori's Dream, Whiter Shade of Pale, Nights in White Satin, and Madre de la Tierra. The latter was a beautifully fitting piece in the lush green surroundings of the reserve.
The Liverpool Trio is world class, highly entertaining, and creates the opportunity for the audience to discover the spirit of this music, as they at once go forward and back in time, in style! Judging from the tremendous applause and standing ovation they received, the concert was a huge success!
The Liverpool Trio will be touring Korea in September, and will be performing at Jazz Alley in Seattle during the holiday season.
