The Senate Democrats got their Christmas wish after they voted Saturday obtaining the 60 required votes. The scrambling Democrats forced Dick Durbin, D-Ill. to clarify an earlier statement he made to the press. Nebraska Senator Ben Nelson was uneasy with several key components as were other holdouts but nobody was concerned that cost of the 2,074 page bill went up $130 billion overnight.
Americans and opponents recognize the bill for what it is-$1.5 Trillion expense when seniors prescription costs are figured in. It will cost Americans more for less insurance and millions of Medicare dollars all for insurance for homeless and illegal aliens. What the government and press continently failed to mention about the 30 million people that would be covered is the millions that don’t believe in or want insurance.

The Amish and many other sects won’t buy insurance and the government will fine them. All these people live like our founding fathers-they don’t deserve this. It’s another indicator that the government has gone astray.
Aside from increasing the world record deficit (ignored by Obama) it has a 40% excise tax for insurance policies and .5% increase in Medicare payroll tax. This has the US Chamber of Commerce spending millions in advertising, The National Retail Federation and business owners all stepping up their efforts to block it. It’s a lose/lose proposition is the consensus. “It’s a bill America can’t afford to pay.”

The facts are the Democrats and Obama are losing votes to stay in office by the minute. Obama’s popularity has gone from 70% to 49% in the latest Gallop poll. First Lady Michelle Obama has a much higher rating than the President at 76%.
The Democrats vision has been clouded by this bill. They missed the red flags with the election results in New Jersey and Virginia where they lost by 2 to 1 margins. The new American people don’t want this bill by the same margin.
The people started losing trust in the administration with AIG, the other failed bailouts in banks and Wall Street costing $trillions, all which they were opposed to. The administration pushed ahead with the measures despite the millions of Tea Party demonstrators from coast to coast. It appears that those in power are blind, deaf and dumb.
Senator Jon Kyl said, "It would be our hope that our more moderate Democratic colleagues would respect the wishes of their constituents rather than do the bidding of Harry Reid,"
Obama’s “State of the Union Address” is only a few weeks away-eggs, fruit and guns will be banned. The Democrats desperation stems from the fact that at this point they have nothing to show for a year in office. Unless you call failure in results an achievement as noteworthy.
