Leslie Crocker Snyder fails to receive women's group endorsement

Candidate for Manhattan District Attorney, Richard Aborn, held a press conference on the steps of City Hall today. The Richard Aborn campaign was announcing several hefty endorsements from a bounty of Manhattan political heavyweights. Councilmembers Gale Brewer and Melissa Mark Viverito gave their approval. Assemblymembers Deborah Glick and Linda Rosenthal also endorsed the candidate.

These ladies were present at the press conference along with Catherine Abate (former NYC Corrections Commissioner and former DA candidate). Several reasons were given for granting their approval upon Mr. Aborn. His commitment to crime prevention and opposition to the Rockefeller Drug Laws were two key reasons for receiving the endorsement. Mr. Aborn is against the death penalty and that was important to many of the women.

Although there is a female candidate in the race, these women choose to endorse Mr Aborn instead. Leslie Crocker Snyder, a former Judge, is the lone female candidate currently running for Manhattan DA. Ms. Snyder handed down many harsh sentences under the Rockefeller Drug Laws and only recently denounced the Laws as harsh and ineffective. Ms. Snyder supports the death penalty.

Leslie Crocker Snyder recently received an endorsement from Vice Presidential nominee, Geraldine Ferraro. Ms. Ferraro also endorsed Hillary Clinton during the presidential democratic nominee contest. She famously said, "If Obama was a white man, he would not be in this position." Ms. Ferraro insisted she hadn't made a racist comment and blamed the Obama campaign for playing the race card. However, she later resigned from Hillary Clinton's finance committee due to the scandal. Other notable female endorsements were made by Gloria Steinem and Caroline Kennedy who both backed Cy Vance for Manhattan DA.

...as of about 4 weeks ago. As a judge, she once remarked to a defendant that she'd like to deliver the lethal injection herself. How's that for a correction?

The only reason she says "she doesn't" support the death penalty is because she knows it wouldn't fly with Manhattan voters...is she gonna flip-flop if she gets elected PU-LEASE...she is out of touch...
