Mitotic Slime was added to the Magic: The Gathering 2011 core set spoiler list  today via Mark Rosewater's Twitter @maro254.  Mitotic Slime brings "oozing" flavor to green's creature sprawl in a rare card that gives seven creatures for the price of one!

Creature Ooze Rare
When Mitotic Slime is put into a graveyard from the battlefield, put two 2/2 green Ooze creature tokens onto the battlefield. They have “When this creature is put into a graveyard, put two 1/1 green Ooze creature tokens onto the battlefield.”
4/4

Mitotic Slime gives you tokens on top of tokens, providing a massive seven creature sacrifice engine asking to be used in tandem with things like Bloodthrone Vampire (+14/+14!) and anything else requiring creature sustenance.

Mitotic Slime may be too expensive at 5 mana to fit into the current decks featuring Eldrazi Monument and Beastmaster Ascension but those templates beg for interaction with this slimy, sacrifice-friendly sludge.

Combos aside, Mitotic Slime is a great green creature that hedges your bets against those pesky removal spells, and offers insurance against world wipers like Day of Judgment.

Is Mitotic Slime a rare limited bomb?  Well, Mitotic Slime isn't on par with the titan cycle for "Deal with me or lose immediately" but it's first pick material through and through, providing an army's worth of creatures in a single card.

Mitotic Slime is going to be very interesting to see played for both its intrinsic value and in decks where it will be used to flood the board with ooze or as a resource for a sacrifice engine.

Mitotic Slime will also be a prize card featured at the 2011 core set Game Day events held in August, so you'll have a chance to try for a special version of Mitotic Slime once its had time to creep its way into your heart!

Mitotic Slime will be splitting itself and the opposition in two this summer during the prerelease and release events for Magic: The Gathering's 2011 core set - don't miss your chance to get your hands on one, two, or four of these multiplying masterpieces!
