Secessionist movement under way in Texas

AP Photo/Jae C. Hong

Fiercely independent and thoroughly horrified at the blatantly unconstitutional explosion of federal tyranny into every aspect of our lives, Texans are set to march on the state capitol in droves on Saturday. They will be delivering a million-strong petition to their elected officials based on the 10th Amendment, demanding an immediate constitutional confrontation with Washington.

If they are turned away or their concerns inadequately addressed, organizer Gerry Donaldson says they "will be forced to call for a vote for secession." This will not be the last time a state openly defies Obama's treasonous war on the Constitution.

Donaldson, who runs his own Internet radio show, says they are "calling for an orderly process that will allow our federal government to fall back in line with the Constitution." He continued, "Either we will restore America, we will live in a Marxist dictatorship, or we will secede and start over again."

As expressed so well by Timothy Baldwin, "... the Federal government today does not recognize the Sovereignty in the people of the respective states; it does not recognize the respective States' jurisdiction over all matters not expressly delegated to the federal government; and it does not seem to acknowledge State Sovereignty under the 10th amendment of the US Constitution. Given their evident intent and purposes to continually grow in power and to continually oppress and suppress the sovereignty of we the people, against our respective states, the question becomes, how will they be made to understand this? It is of course up to the Sovereigns in each state to answer this question."

It seems to me that Gerry Donaldson is doing what the US Constitution expects of him. Way to go Gerry!

Way to go Texas! Let's face it, liberals are traitors. What else would you call an administration that has communists in high positions, the democratic leadership pushing a socialist agenda, the Attorney General putting the people who keep us safe on trial for getting information from the people who want to kill us...AT WHAT POINT DO WE REALIZE THAT LIBERALISM EQUALS TREASON??!!

Dale is right that George Bush was no friend of the Constitution, as he did indeed have us on a slow train to an America our Founders would have fought to their death to prevent. At least with Obama's rocket ship to socialism, liberty loving Americans of both parties have finally been jarred from their indifference over government and politics as we are fast approaching the most intrusive overbearing government anyone could have possibly imagined just a year so ago.

Should the great State of Texas decide to go their own way and return to the Constitution as originally envisioned, God bless them for standing up for their own freedom and independence. You have the support of millions wishing you well for refusing to submit to totalitarianism.

    Dale,

For too long, our choice has been between destroying America as 20 MPH under Republicans, or 120 MPH under Democrats.

But in eight years, Bush didn't violate the Constitution half as much as Obama has in 6 months. THAT is why the reaction is so much more extreme now.

ASLEEP...and I for one apologize from the bottom of my heart Dale and everyone else reading this...I promise I am awake now. And to be fair, this goes back much further than Bush, Clinton, Carter, etc....this has been culminating for over 50 years, and we have all been complacent in our blindness...but playing blame games at this point in time does nothing to solve the mess we have allowed to accumulate over the years, so, albeit late, we ARE now "eyes open" and should recognize the danger to our country and respond accordingly...

Dale - what Constitutional laws did Bush/Cheney violate? Disclaimer: I'm not a fan of neither and didn't support the reckless spending throughout the Bush years, but what did Bush do that violated the Constitution?

Meanwhile with Obama, you have dozens of unappointed czars that answer to no one, you have a President who may quite possibly be foreign-born taking over auto companies, banks, and is trying to take over energy and healthcare industries. You have ordinary citizens being denigrated, beaten by pro-Obama thugs, and listed in Homeland Security as threats. Is this the hope and change you wanted?

I believe that all of the States should withdraw from this unholy union. The term "Secession" applies only when a part of a whole State wants to separate from the rest.

The US economy is going downhill, third-world invaders are destroying our civilization and way of life, Whites have been pushed aside with no protection by States and Federal Government,White Flight continuous at an alarm rate,no one wants forced integration (not even the liberals, who have pushed this lifestyle down to our throats)millions upon millions of dark illegitimate children are bankrupting our hospitals and welfare agencies. NO Good.

All laws passed serve to oppress Whites and denigrate them at any stage of their lives. The more we endure and keep quiet the more painful it gets. So be it. Separation the sooner the better.

ABOLISH THE FEDERAL DICTATORSHIP!!! Good for you TEXAS. Hope this is just the beginning of the end of the USA as we know it.

It'll take a lot more than a few thousand folks actually marching, or even a million signatures on a petition. Congress acts with contempt for the populace - those with whose "consent" they ostensibly govern. Until DOZENS of House members and not a few sitting Senators are tossed out on their worthless butts, nothing will change. Just look at Lindsey Graham and John McCain..reelected in 2008 and 2006 from "conservative" states with healthy margins. Think they're scared? If so, you're dreaming.

This is to dam funny. I hope Texas does secede. The country of Texans will fall after they invade a middle eastern country for oil and the U.S. military isn't there to protect them. George Bush signed the patriot act which stepped all over Americans liberties. Obama proposes healthcare for all and brilliant Texans cry socialism. Medicaid covers the poor. Medicare covers the old. VA covers the Veterans. Federal Employee Health Insurance Plan covers Police, Firefighters, Postal workers, all federal employees including Senators. And all of these are socialized medicine. The only people who have to buy private health insurance are the working middle class and the rich. Why do Senators refuse to give up their socialized medicine? Is it cause they know the countries that rank better then the U.S. are socialized medicine countries? Steven Hawkins would have died long ago under the U.S. healthcare system. Flame me republicans, I know you people don't like the truth or facts.

We need a confederation of states like Switzerland and not a federal system.

I really like how people think Texas is full of rednecks and will be broke, but whats to stop an Independent Texas from being recognized by Russia and Putin for revenge of the US/Kosovo deal?

Another point is International law allows a 200mile (or split with a neighboring country which would be Mexico) range from your coastline for what is called Exclusive Economic Zone which they can explore for oil and that would pretty much be alot of the Gulf.

For people thinking that the US military would roll down here and take out the shotgun wielding hunters and bible thumpers, well as we can see on the News (BBC) that the US has to carefully pick their targets because anytime they hit a house that is full of alleged civilians there is huge international outcry. Imagine US soldiers FROM Texas (Alot of em) Walking in their hometown and fighting friends and family? Think PTSD is bad? That will be 10x worse

The Tenth Amendment was put in the Constitution for a purpose. Is this the time? I think so. We no longer want to be a part of a country that has a dictator who has surrounded himself with Marxists and seemingly answers to no one. Our system of checks and balances is gone. Our senate and House are obsolete.

Millions of Americans still believe in limited government, individual freedom and property rights. Dr. Alexander Tyler, a Scot professor, wrote that the average age of the world's greatest civilizations has been 200 years. These nations have progressed through this sequence: From bondage to spiritual faith, from spiritual faith to great courage, from courage to liberty, from liberty to abundance, from abundance to selfishness, selfishness to apathy, from apathy to dependence, from dependence to bondage.

to D - I would love to have the federal government out of our schools and out of our lives and pockets. It is a shame that we have paid into Social Security etc. and will not get anything back, but the program is near bankrupt anyway. Wouldn't it be wonderful to never have to pay another dime in federal income taxes! If Texas leads the way, other states will follow. Texas has enough natural resources to take care of itself and wouldn't have to pay back the $11,000,000,000,000 national debt. What a deal!
If some of its citizens aren't interested in succession, then move to another state. There will be a lot of folks in other states who will want to move to Texas. I think I will go pack.

I appreciate the sentiment regarding succession, but, if carried out, succession would end in disaster. It might very well play into the hands of the globalists, who would like to dismantle the US for ease of merger into a New World O'der. Texas has many vital interests of the US, and would have to defend militarily. What would be the expedient ... reuniting with Mexico?

The solution to effectively reclaim sovereignty is to stop taking federal funds and therefore federal strings. Next, full disclosure regarding social security ... i.e., that it is 100% voluntary, not required by any law to live OR WORK in the US, and that participation makes you liable for federal income tax. Stop the corporations in texas from acting as federal tax collectors via withholding.

Do those two things and the federal govt. is effectively kicked out of Texas. Other states will follow.

@give me liberty: Sure, just keep taking advantage of all the social services and freedom America provides you, but let the rest of us pay for them. Taxes, if I may remind you, are the dues we all pay to live in a free society. If Texas seceded, then its citizens would all become illegal aliens :) Instead of going the wrong way, the Congress needs to invite the people of Mexico to join the U.S. as the "51st state" (10+ new states), allowing it to finally be developed and the populations to mix sans racism, healing 160 years of grudges since the 1848 Apartheid imposed by the U.S. when it took half of Mexico back in its whites-only homeland era. Google "Megamerge Dissolution Solution" to read my proposal, which the Obama admin. can implement as soon as next year.

I'm curious where Texas, a very drought-prone state, will get its water in about thirty or forty years when your aquifers, rivers, and lakes are too low to sustain your population.

I hope you don't think the nearby United States will have any interest in giving up their own increasingly precious water to a foreign country. No, not even for trade in oil. By then, much of our energy will be from renewable sources, while your own oil will be that much more depleted.
