2nd Amendment supporters turned out by the thousands Wednesday in Springfield to march under an ocean of flags, signs and banners demanding that Illinois become the 49th state to enact Conceal-Carry.
State senator Kyle McCarter (R), who spoke at the event, argued that after decades of excessive government regulation, Springfield's continued attacks on gun rights are an admission that gun control simply doesn't work.
As I have noted, disarming only law-abiding gun owners does nothing to stop crime--and removing restrictions does.
The event, organized by the Illinois State Rifle Association (with the help of Illinois Carry and Champaign County Rifle Association), also featured Chicago resident Otis McDonald, whose stubborn insistence on defending himself against criminals has put him at the center of a ground-breaking Supreme Court case.
On a side note, the best signs were the ones being carried by the women. My favorite had a woman's face, one eye behind a smoking pistol, reading, "Rape this."

The day was a success!
Every citizen has a right to protect themselves, absolutely concealed carry should pass.
