As Royal Caribbean begins loading the scheduling and pricing into the reservations system for the 2011 and 2012 season, it can be confirmed that Explorer of the Seas will remain in Bayonne, New Jersey.  The Voyager class ship which has been sailing round trip and year round from Cape Liberty, Bayonne, New Jersey for the past several years will be offering the following itineraries:

  • Caribbean

What's new for 2011-2012
Royal Caribbean is going to offer two shorter sailings over the Christmas and New Year's time period for 2011 .  Instead of one long 12 to 14 night cruise (as in past years during the holidays), in 2011 there are two 7 day Bahamas cruises are scheduled for departure for the holidays.  The first sailing is scheduled to depart on December 23, 2011 for Christmas and the second on December 30, 2011 for New Year's Eve.  For those interested in longer cruises of 10, 11, and 12 day sailings you will see those return to the schedule after the holidays and resume beginning January 6, 2012 with a 10 night sailing to the Eastern Caribbean.

The Bahamas and Florida for the holidays? Gee! Now I can escape the cold, wet Northeast for the cool and rainy Southeast and Bahamas. I will NOT be booking either of these sailings and I've booked Explorer consistently for the past 4 years for the holidays. What is Royal Caribbean thinking??

Personally I'm happy they're offering two shorter cruises for the holidays, I can't get two weeks off in a row at work. I'll be booking the December 30th sailing for certain.

When are they going to wake up and send a newer ship to Bayonne? EOS is getting old and tired. NJ is a strong cruising market and Royal isn't giving us the respect we deserve. Let them try to fill their ships without people from NJ and NY!!

I just got a quote from my travel agent for December 30, 2011 on EOS. Get this $1780.79 per person for the New Year's Eve sailing for a Category E2. Thanks but no thanks.

I think the options for the length of the cruise are awesome. Personally, that carrier is not my favorite, but its always nice to have options! great reporting!

You have GOT to be kidding. Wake up Royal Caribbean! Everyone is tired of the ship and these same ports of call.

Why doesn't Royal Caribbean offer some different itineraries and what do we have to do to get a newer ship up here? And, Royal Caribbean, if you're reading this please DO NOT transfer one of those "mistakes" known as Oasis or Allure to Bayonne!! Give us a Freedom class ship in 2012-2013!! You have lost me as a customer until I see change for the better in Bayonne.
