To my readers, newfound, and established: After quite a few glitches, I am now able to post articles on Examiner.com as the new, National Luxury Lifestyles examiner, as I have been doing since June as the New York Cosmetics Examiner. It is my pleasure and honor to begin to present to you, all sorts of ideas that can help you make life easier, more successful, more fun, and of course
The word "luxury," means different things to different people. The textbook definition of luxury is something that is an indulgence rather than a necessity, something that gives pleasure and/or comfort, and something expensive or hard to obtain. For many, the word luxury conjurs up wordly goods. Diamonds, yachts, furs, an extravagant lifestyle. But for a hard working entrepreneur, "luxury" might simply mean a day to unplug and not answer emails or phone calls. For a busy mom, "luxury" might mean a quiet moment, a catnap, or maybe actually, a cat on her lap!
Luxury means all of these things to me, and more. As the new, National Luxury Lifestyles reporter, I realize that there won't be just one definition of luxury that will fuel my imagination to write about luxury. In general, since I review products and report on high profile events in my other work for the Advice Sisters, I am likely to show you some of the higher end and "finer" things money can buy. But I'll also write about different and more abstract notions of luxury, whether that means a spa treatment, a quiet place to find some "me" time, or even travel, dining, and other things that make life easier, more successful, more fun, more beautiful and...more "luxurious."\
What does luxury mean to you? I'd love to know what you think luxury is. I welcome your comments !
As the days, weeks, and months pass, I hope we will get to know one another. I have added my photo here so you can recognize me on various social media sites.
